Black Queens striker Sandra Owusu Ansah will be missing in action when the team takes on the rest of Africa in the 2018 Total Women’s Africa Cup of Nations due to injury.

Sandra, 18, was expected to join the team in camp but picked up an injury while playing for her club Zouk Mosbeh Girls FC in their final match of the Lebanese League.

Black Queens head coach, Bashir Hayford, says he had no other option than to exclude the talented striker from the team ahead of the announcement of the final 21 squad to feature in the upcoming biennial tournament.

The Queens are currently lodging at the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel after playing two international friendlies against Zambia and Kenya, losing 2-3 and drawing 1-1 respectively.

They will play their last preparatory game against the Bayana Bayana of South Africa on Sunday to open the newly-refurbished Accra Sports Stadium before the tournament kicks off on November 17.

The Queens will open the competition with a clash against their Algerian counterparts before facing Cameroun and Mali in the other group matches
