The national senior women's football team, Black Queens have been drawn in Group B of the second edition of the West African Football Union (WAFU) B Women’s Cup of Nations to be staged in Cote d’Ivoire in May.
The Queens, who were crowned champions of the maiden edition in 2018 after beating hosts Cote d’Ivoire, will battle it out once again against Mali, Nigeria and Guinea at the group stages.
The Ghanaians, under the tutelage of Coach Mercy Tagoe-Quarcoe, defeated Cote d’Ivoire 1-0 in the final to lift the coveted trophy.
Côte d'Ivoire, who are hosting it for the second time are scheduled to play in Group A alongside Benin and Senegal.
The West African region's football body took the decision after the nation successfully staged the maiden edition in 2018 at the Felix Houphouet-Boigny and Robert Champroux stadia.
