The national senior women’s football team, Black Queens on Monday left Accra for Abidjan, the capital of Cote d’Ivoire to participate in the second edition of the West Africa Football Union (WAFU) Zone B Tournament, which starts from Wednesday May 8 to Saturday, May 18.
The 20 players and their technical handlers, led by Coach Mercy Tagoe Quarcoo, will participate in the eight-nation tournament which has Nigeria’s Super Falcons as contenders.
The Queens, defending champions, are drawn in Group A alongside hosts Cote d’Ivoire, Senegal and Togo.
Nigeria, Mali, Burkina Faso and Niger are drawn in Group B.
