Mukarama Abdulai, the 2018 FIFA Under-17 Women’s World Cup (WWC) topscorer, on Wednesday saved her club side defeat in the ongoing National Women’s League Special Competition (NWLSC), scoring a late goal to help Northern Ladies earn a 2-2 draw against visiting Prisons Ladies.

Prisons, who lost the opening game against Pearlpia on Sunday, were eager to avoid a second defeat in this tournament, and came from behind to take a 2-1 with a brace from Black Queens’ player, Juliet Acheampong (63rd, 81st) after Victoria Osei had put Northern Ladies ahead on the 20th minute.

However, the 2018 winner of the FIFA bronze ball for being the third best player at the U-17 WWC in Uruguay, saved on the 89th minute, to leave Prisons Ladies disappointed.

Match Day Two of the tournament, introduced to keep clubs busy, recovered a goal havest with Elmina Sea Lions and Ashtown Ladies as the biggest winners on the day.

Sea Lions handed Hasaacas Ladies their worse defeat in women's football thrashing them 4-1 in their encounter of the National Women's League Special Competition currently ongoing.

Sea Lions who picked a point from their opening game against Soccer Intellectuals when the tournament kicked off on Sunday, claimed all three points on Match Day 2 against the former NWL champions, who played at home.

The Elmina-based side took a commanding 3-0 lead with a brace from Elizabeth Owusuaa (8th, 36th) as well as Theresah A Cobbinah (18th) before Hasaacas pulled one back through Pepertual Agyekum.

Any hope of recovery for the three-times NWL champion fizzled out with a fourth goal from the visitors as Fatima Alhassan completed the rout with a fourth goal on the 64th minute.

Ashtown Ladies also earned an emphatic 3-0 win against Supreme Ladies with a brace also from Joyce Fenteng (35th, 39th) and Asana Hamidu (86th).

Samaria Ladies (in red) picked valuable three points against Immigration Ladies on the opening day
