Black Stars winger, Kwadwo Asamoah, says his decision to return to international duties after nearly four years absence was because his physical condition has reached its peak.
The left-footed player has been out of the national team set up after he was injured while honouring national assignment about four years ago.
But speaking in an exclusive interview with Football Italia, the 30-year-old former Juventus star said he felt like the time had come for him to honour his national duties again and that explains his decision to play for Black Stars again.
Coach Kwasi Appiah invited the winger, last September to play in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Kenya but turn down another invitation in November during for the next AFCON qualifier against Ethiopia.
“I decided to start playing with the national team again when I felt like I was in peak physical condition -– that’s when I decided to return,” he said.
He said he was always a proud moment to be in the national colours and always want to give his best which is why he wants to be in top form before honouring any national invitation.
“I need to feel like I’m at my best so I can give my all when I play for the national team and indeed at club level. Every minute I play for the national team gives me immense pride -– it’s an honour.”
