Nungua-based Division One club, Danbort FC, have vowed to eliminate Premier League giants, Hearts of Oak from the MTN FA Cup when they play in the Round of 64 stage at the Accra Sports Stadium tomorrow.
According to the Chief Executive Officer of Danbort, Eugene Nobel Noel, they are working tireless to silence the Phobians.
In an interview with the Daily Graphic yesterday, Mr Noel explained that his team was in high spirit ahead of the game as they look to shock their opponent.
“We are working tireless to beat Hearts when we host them at the Accra Sports Stadium. Everything is being put in place to ensure they go down in our FA Cup fixture.
“They have a good team and we are prepared to face them and ensure we defeat them at the end of the match,” he said.
Hearts, on the other hand, could be without most of its senior players who are preparing to depart Ghana for London in preparation for the Independence Cup clash with arch rivals Asante Kotoko.
The likes of William Denkyi, Manaf Umar, Michelle Sarpong, Christopher Bonney, Dominic Eshun, goalkeeper Ben Mensah among others will have the opportunity to start for the Phobians with the hope of making it to the Round of 32 stage.
Meanwhile, the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium will host a local derby between Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Asokwa Deportivo following the closure of the Baba Yara Stadium by the National Sports Authority.
Buoyed by their 1-0 victory over Dreams FC last Wednesday, league leaders, Ashantigold will seek to impose their authority over second tier side Achiken FC at the Gyamfi Park.
In other matches, Ebusua Dwarfs will host Star Madrid to the Cape Coast Stadium, Swedru All Blacks clash with Elmina Sharks at the Unistar Park, Sekondi Eleven Wise welcome Nzema Kotoko to the Essipong Stadium, Krystal Palace host Vision FC at the Akotex Park, while Blue Skies Pelicans trek to engage Okwawu United at the Nkawkaw Park.
Berekum Chelsea will engage Unity FC at the Unity Park, Accra City Stars welcome Liberty Professionals to the Mats Park, Aduana Stars will play in an all premier affair with Bechem United at the Nana Agyemang Badu Park, while Karela United and Medeama SC meet at the Akoon Park, Tarkwa.
Second tier sides B.A. United and Tano Bofoakwa clash at the Coronation Park in a renewal of one of Ghana’s fiercest age-long rivalry, Dreams FC and Phar Rangers have a date at the Mampong Comm. Park, Hearts of Lions host Legon Stars at the Kpando Stadium, RTU and Young Zombia play at the Aliu Mahama Stadium in Tamale, Kintampo Top Talent host Young Apostles at the Kintampo Park, while the Paga Park host a clash between Paga Crocodiles and Zuarungu FC.
