Cape Coast Court One 'B' on Thursday, November 21, fined Awal Suleman GH¢2,400 for running onto the pitch in Ghana's 2021 African Cup Of Nations (AFCON) qualifier against South Africa.

The court ordered Awal to pay the amount and to sign a bond of good behaviour as he was charged for disturbing public peace and resisting arrest when he invaded on the pitch.

Meanwhile, Awal before his fine met his idol Thomas Partey after the Atletico Madrid star extended an invitation to him of him insisting he invaded the pitch because of the Black Star player.

At the meeting, Partey handed a signed shirt to his fan and took pictures with him.

Awal was arrested by security officials after the incident and was held in custody for two days before granted bail last Saturday.

Awal came on to the pitch in the 74th minute, holding a phone in search of Partey but was given a hot chase by the security officials and apprehended

Various reports following the incident had indicated that Awal had been fulfilling a dare, as he had promised to complete the crazy celebration should Ghana win the match against South Africa by two goals to nil.

Others indicated that Awal was an avid admirer of Thomas Partey and just wanted a photo with him.
