Kumasi Asante Kotoko goalkeeper Felix Annan has been dropped from Coach Kwasi Appiah’s squad for next week's 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Ethiopia despite putting up am impressive performance on his national team debut.

Annan was handed a starting role last month when the Black Stars played against his club at the Baba Yara Stadium in an arranged friendly after Ghana's Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Sierra Leone was suspended following the suspension last month of the Sierra Leone Football Association by FIFA.

He gave a good account of himself with a first half performance in a game which the Stars won 3-0, before he was substituted during at half-time by France-based Lawrence Ati-Zigi.

However, on Wednesday Appiah named his squad for the Ethiopia game with Annan conspicuously missing. Appiah's squad included Sochaux shot-stopper Ati-Zigi and Richard Ofori of South African side, Martizburg.

The Black Stars team will begin camping in Kenya on Monday ahead of their November 18 clash with Ethiopia in Addis Ababa.

Ghana defeated Walias of Ethiopia 5-0 in June last year in a group qualifier at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.
