The group stage of the CAF Confederation Cup end on Wednesday, August 29 with matches between Ghana’s representatives Aduana Stars and Raja Casablanca of Morocco, as well as ASEC Mimosas versus Congolese side AS Vita Club.
Aduana Stars will play away to Raja Casablanca at the 55,000 capacity Stade Mohamed V in Casablanca at 7 pm, while AS Vita host ASEC Mimosas at the Stade des Martyrs in Kinshasa.
AS Vita Club leads the Group A table with 10 points, followed by Raja Casablanca with eight points, ASEC six points and Aduana four points in that order.
At the Stade Mohamed V, Burkinabe referee, Justice Ephraim will be at the centre of affairs when Aduana Stars face off with Raja in a match which the homesters will adopt every available tactics to win in order to enhance their chances of securing a ticket to the semi-finals.
Raja coach, Juan Carlos Garrido, is expected to line up key players such as Badr Kachani, Abdelmajid Dine and Sala Eddine Aqqal to execute the job to make the dream a reality.
From all indications, it is obvious the Ghanaians only made the trip for formality sake, especially where management took a firm decision to send only 14 players to Morocco, much to the displeasure of the head coach, Kenichi Yatsuhashi.
The team arrived safely in Morocco on Monday, August 27 and lodged at the Atlas Almohades Hotel.
