The trainer of light welterweight boxer, Faisal Abubakar, says the national title is their next target following five impressive victories in as many bouts by the boxer.
The trainer, Carl Lokko, noted however that his boxer needed three more tune-up fights to prepare him adequately for the national crown, which he believed could be achieved as soon as possible.
The trainer described Abubakar as one of the best upcoming boxers in the country and called on Ghanaians to watch out for him.
Abubakar dispatched Francis Appalo in five rounds last week on the Bukom Fist of Fury bill.
Nonetheless, the trainer admitted that the boxer would need to be guided through his career to build on his experience and not rushed into fights.
“He is fighting well and destroying his opponents in the ring. I think the focus is to get hold of the national title but we need some more fights to prepare for that.
“Faisal Abubakar has a bright future in the sport and I want boxing lovers to watch out for him because he is one of the best boxers in the country at the moment,” Lokko told the Graphic Sports.
