Religious tolerance and peaceful coexistence; some suggestions
Tolerance, respect for fundamental human rights, freedom of religion, respect for the rule of law (Constitution of Ghana) and kindness are among the factors that ensure peaceful coexistence in our homes, schools, institutions, communities and the nation as a whole.
It is very important that families, leaders, schools, institutions, organisations, communities and the people realise the great need to uphold the religious rights and freedom of all people irrespective of which religion those people belong to in order for us to continue enjoying the lasting peace we have in this country. Being tolerant and respecting the rights of others is an important aspect of our civilisation as people in this 21st century.
The recent debate about religious freedom and tolerance by some Ghanaians is an issue that needs urgent national attention before things get out of hand. I would strongly ask for great respect for the religious freedom of all people, especially in our educationa
