Rally around the flag
Artistes with varying styles made it to the final event of the Celebrating Accra Festival at Mantse Agbonaa Park in Accra recently.
One of them was Blakk Rasta and his Herbalists band that pumped out some radiant reggae stuff on the night.
Kicking off with his famous Barack Obama song, the award-winning artiste offered samples of his own Moonsplash-branded reggae pieces.
Always colourfully robed for a nationalistic effect, Blakk Rasta brought long red, gold and green flags which were vigorously waved on stage for the whole period that he was there.
Acts that preceded Blakk Rasta at the concert were the Patch Bay band which played a blend of highlife, hiplife and Azonto songs, Screwface, the Vibration Kings band, Commander Mezziah and the Adesa Taloi fontonfrom drummers.
The Celebrating Accra Festival was supported by Agenda 21 of Spain, Accra Metropolitan Assembly, Goethe-Institut, CITI FM, Accra Brewery and Cowbell.
The month-long festival presented various events including concerts, art and photo exhibitions, dance performances and seminars around Accra throughout March.
