Patch Bay band plays at Mantse Agbonaa
The month-long Celebrating Accra Festival ends at the Mantse Agbonaa Park in Accra on Saturday, March 30 with an open-air concert.
One of the featured bands at the concert will be the Patch Bay band led by Phillip Acquah on electric bass. With degrees in music and psychology from the University of Education at Winneba, Philip is one of the finest bassists in the country.
He is also the regular bassist for Sound Facttree, the resident band of the +233 Jazz Bar and Grill in Accra and has toured abroad with some of Ghana’s leading musicians including Kojo Antwi , Afro Moses Becca. He will lead Patch Bay to offers variety of music dancing.
Also billed to appear is reggae star Blakk Rasta. His is an exponent of Moonsplash reggae which is fast gaining ground here and elsewhere. Moonsplash fuses elements of mainstream reggae with diverse rhythms, beats and sounds from Ghana and other parts of Africa.

Adesa Taloi, a music and dance group based in James Town (Accra) led by Nii Tackie Abia, will perform fontonfrom music. A number of ‘jama’ groups including Allan Family, Abroshie and James Town Kolomashie will also parade the streets near Mantse Agbonaa with ‘jama’ music and dance.
