MTN Ghana Stands in Worship jammed

If the first edition of the MTN Ghana Stands in Worship was a blast, this year’s was a  bomb. What a night of soul inspiring music and delightful performances?

Despite its two and half hours late start, the concert lived up to its billing as artistes billed to perform mounted the stage one after the other distributing excitement till the very end.

As at 8pm, the event, powered by Imajin Advertising, and scheduled  to start at 6pm, had not commenced.The stage was still being fixed and equipment were being tested

Some patrons resorted to clapping loudly to register their displeasure and to draw the attention of the organisers. However, the anger and rancor and feelings of disappointment disappeared when MCs for the night, Jeremie of 4syte TV fame and Rev Fred McDavid of Citi FM  introduced the MTN Viva Choir, whose performance of Jenkin’s Awesome and  Bassey’s Imela got the crowd on their feet cheering.

Dressed in all gold that sparkled in the night, Ceccy Twum was next and set the tone for a thrilling event as she treated the now sober crowd to soul-inspiring local and foreign worship songs such as Hillsong’s My Heart Your Home and Rev. Yawson’s Agya Onyame.

And when the ever-vibrant Tagoe Sisters took their turn till they exited the stage, there was no one sitting down. The crowd’s reception tothe duo is an indication that they are still a force to reckon with. They were awesome as they perfomed songs like their latest single,Adonai, Se Mehwe, Mewo Yesu A and Menya Yesu that left the crowd asking for more.

Joe Mettle and No Tribe, also sustained the charged atmosphere with vibant worship and praise songs as Joe Mettle performed among other songs Nhyira and No Tribe treated the audience to hot praises.

The international acts on the night Sinach and William McDowell gave a good account of themselves. The enthusiasm with which the  crowd greeted them testified that the songs of the artistes have been received well by Ghanaians. Patrons were treated to Sinach’s I Stand Amazed, Awesome God, The Name of Jesus, Chose Generation and McDowell’s You Are God Alone,I Belong Yo You, Witholding Nothing, I Give Myself away. His rendition of Kronkron brought the curtains down to a a good night.
