Knii Lante live at +233
Award-winning singer-songwriter, Knii Lante will be the featured artiste at the +233 Jazz Bar and Grill tomorrow, August 16 at North Ridge in Accra. Knii Lante is a reggae man at heart but his broad outlook enables him take ballads, Afro-Beat, R & B, funk, soca and other styles easily in his stride.
His 16-track Love & Revolution album is a treasure trove of romantic and militant themes. He has rehearsed well with his band and they will play songs like As Flowers Need Rain, When You Love
Someone, Hips In Sway, My Girl, Big Trees, Bo Noo and Rocky Road from the collection.
“Of course, we will lay on House of Pain for the lovers of tight reggae grooves,” said Knii Lante who sings mostly in English but has some soothing love songs in Ga.

His band comprises Justice Vormawor (keyboards), Kingsley Bediako (drums), Wisdom Nyansah (guitar), Daniel Nertey ((bass) and Gerald Nkrumah, Ruth Williams and Evalinda Mensah (backing vocals).
Their last public performance was at the maiden edition of the Bass Awards final event at the National Theatre last month where Knii Lante won the Record of the Year trophy with his politically-charged Rocky Road song.
He was also the Ghana Music Awards’ Best Male Vocalist category winner in 2010 and 2013.
It is hoped that the intimate setting of the +233 would bring out the performance musician in Knii Lante that many have not yet been privileged to see.
Saturday, August 17 will be the turn of the Sound Factree band led by pianist Victor Dey at the +233. Austrian singer-songwriter Babsea Schutting will be a special guest for the night.
