Emelia to put smiles on needy faces
Kumawood actress, Emelia Brobbey, and her friends will on Saturday, August 1, raise funds for Compassion Is Live In Action (C.I.L.I.A) children’s home at Sunyani.
The event which is under her Emelia Brobbey Charity Organisation ( E.B.C.O) will be in the form of a concert is to raise funds to complete a three bedroom structure for the orphanage.
Celebs who will support Emelia at the Sunyani Coronation Park, the venue of the concert, will include actors Bill Asamoah, Dabo, Nana Ama McBrown and musicians Gifty Osei, SP Kofi Sarpong, Brother Sammy among others.
Emelia told Showbiz last week that, “ the fund raising event will have the musicians treat patrons to musical performances while the actors will entertain them with short sketches.”
The pretty actress explained that this is her social responsibility to society. “ I love to put smiles on the faces of the needy and this is one of the things I am doing to realise that passion”, she added.
E.B.C.O since its establishment in 2012 has supported four orphanages namely Agbogloshie Kayaye Needless Kids Centre in Accra, Rhemar Ghana Rehabilitation Centre, Kumasi, Abdullam Orphanage and Patmos Children Home in Obuasi.
Emelia Brobby who hails from Akim Swedru in the Eastern Region was born on Friday, January 6, to Samuel P. Brobbey and Miss Selina Amponsah.
Emelia, a trained teacher attended Akyem Swedru Secondary School and later went to GIMPA to pursue a Bachelor Degree in Human Resource Management.
She has featured in over 80 movies and has her own production house, End Time Films.
