DJ candy Man will stand out

The proliferation of Disc Jockeying software programs means only a few DJs can display real Jockey’s dexterity and entertain audience with manual vinos and keep the night clubs and pubs sizzling for hours without end. Arguably, DJ Candy Man is the topmost of the few who still stand tall.

Kumasi’s darling, DJ candy man has broken grounds in the entertainment turf and has earned himself a name on the tongue of most music-loving Ghanaians after just a couple of years in Accra.

Playing After Drive on one of the city’s most-listened-to radio Stations, Atinka 104.7 Fm, Candy has been ticked by Pundits and binary thinkers in entertainment cycles as the best contender in the up-coming DJs Awards in the ‘Best Highlife DJ Category’.

Being ambidextrous on the console and quenching the music taste of Ghanaians since 1997 has earned him the name, CANDY MAN. His real name, however is, Alex Kwaku Amoah.

His nomination was much anticipated by many in show business. Having kept the dancing feet of party lovers busy for almost two decades, there is no way the DJ avatar could fail. It is said in Kumasi that, Candy Man could make a deaf nod in admiration as he mixes songs so excellently. For the one year that he has been with Atinka Fm, he keeps good high life music blasting in the stereos of the Radios of Pubs and commercial vehicles, cushioning the listener with a soothing comfort of good music.

Candy Man started this trade some nineteen years ago at his home region, Ashanti. He started with once-upon – a-time Lynck Fm in the Garden City where he worked from 1997 to 1999 and moved on to Fox Fm. He plied the trade there for another five long years and joined Hallo Fm also in Kumasi.  At Hallo Fm, he paid his dues diligently. He was the talk of town and mentored wanna-be DJs who have now become bankable in show business. Alex Amoah always grounded listeners and caused traffic jam anytime he took over the airwaves.

While at Hallo Fm, he was the toast of popular night clubs in town. With his mixes, he blew the roof off Fox Trap, Kiravi, Yegola and Café Masarati Night clubs respectively. He left Hallo Fm in 2011 after six years of real radio revolution.

To satisfy his desire to soar higher, Candy Man travelled down south to Accra to compete with the bigger fishes and earn more accolades. He signed on with Rainbow Radio International where his ‘work of arts’ streamed live on ADB radio in London.  Since 2014 until he left the station, he was one of the iconic faces.

Now, at Atinka 104.7 Fm in Accra, Candy Man is still in the business of winning hearts for the industry. His gentle high life mixes from Monday to Thursday between the hours 7-9pm leaves a lot to be desired. It has taken the chap a life’s training to hit his hallmark. Nothing can derail him from being decorated with laurels at the up-coming DJs Wards. Indeed, DJ Candy Man will surely stand out.
