Cultural Fund calls for applications
The Ghana Denmark Cultural Fund (GDCF) has once again made a call for applications from artistes and related arts organisations for support of projects throughout the country.
According to Korkor Amarteifio, administrator of the fund, all projects relating to the arts are welcome. She, however, stressed that precedence would be given to applications that involve excellence in ingenuity, creative works as well as traditional works with contemporary ideas.
The application forms, she said, can be obtained for free at www.gdcfonline.org. According to her, forms must be filled and mailed to the address provided on the website. She added that deadline for submission of applications is Sunday, September 15 2013.
Amarteifio, who is also the co-director for the Institute for Music and Development, stated that projects that support and provide opportunities for participation in arts experiences through audience development in various communities (including deprived ones) would equally be considered for support.
Since 2007, the GDCF has released a total of GHc 932,773.43 for various arts projects throughout the country. These include publishing of books, documentary films, dance productions, acquisition of instruments / equipment, story-telling and reading programmes for school children among others.
Objectives of the GDCF, which was established in 2007 include the strengthening of inter-cultural relationships, mutual understanding and the promotion of democratic values through cross-cultural expressions and interactions.
