Bob Okalla is dead
One of Ghana’s ace comedians, Samuel Kwadwo Buabeng, aka Bishop Okalla, last Saturday passed on to the other world while performing on stage.
Although he was not billed to perform at the event put together by Joy Industries, Okalla was said to have prevailed upon the organisers to allow him to entertain the crowd, and for the rapport he had with the management of Joy Industries, he was allowed to do so.
Unbelievable
News of the death of the ace comedian was disregarded until his remains lying in the mortuary at the Koforidua Regional Hospital started circulating on social media.
A member of the organising committee of the event, who is also the Managing Editor of Brite FM, Mr Kwaku Solomon Nuwordu, described the incident as sad and unfortunate.
He described Bishop Okalla as a regular voice on Brite FM, which is owned by Joy Industries.
GJA condemns
The Eastern Regional branch of the Ghana Journalists Association has condemned the circulation of the pictures of the remains of Bishop Okalla.
The Regional Secretary, Mr Maxwell Kudakor, described the posting of the remains of Okalla on Facebook as insensitive, unprofessional and senseless.
