24 win Ghana DJ Awards
Performances by artistes such as Mz Vee, Stonebwoy, AK Songstress, Pope Skinny and Diamond lit up the 2014 Ghana DJ Awards ceremony that came off last Saturday at the National Theatre.
Joy FM’s DJ Black who was nominated in seven categories, came away as the biggest winner on the night with four awards including the Best DJ of the Year.
Adom FM’s Harey Adjoa Yeboa Asuama, better known as Ohemaa Woyeje, was the winner in one of the female categories at the event: Best Female Radio DJ of the Year.
“Being included in the nominations meant I could win but you can never be sure until you hear your name mentioned out loud on the stage,” said an elated Ohemaa.
One of the categories that created some amount of buzz among the public, DJs’ Song of the Year, went to Shatta Wale for his Dancehall King track.
Other notable winners on the night were Blakk Rasta (Reggae/Dancehall DJ of Year); DJ Sapii (Gospel DJ of the Year); DJ Kess (Best Female DJ of the Year) and Andy Dosty (Highlife DJ of the Year).
The event’s organizer, Mercury Quaye, told Showbiz he was fairly satisfied with the event which was the second in the series and was looking forward to another successful one next year.
