Two win 2016 Ford Focus in GN Bank promo
Two customers of the Elmina Branch of GN Bank, Messrs Vincent Brown and Ato Quanson, have emerged overall winners of the bank’s People’s Gift Promotion (PGP), which ended last month.
The two, who operate a joint account with the bank, are to receive the 2016 model of a Ford Focus, which was the grand prize for the promotion.
The first and second prizes – a fully paid trip for two people to South Africa with $2,000 as spending money and a cash amount of GH¢15,000 – went to Mr Zedagbui Francis Kwaku of Yeji and the Marakaz Islamic Travel and Tour in Tamale.
The draw was done and the winners announced at a publicly held event in Accra. The draw was supervised by officials of the National Lotteries Authority (NLA) under its Caritas Platform. The winners were called to confirm their details after which they were informed of the good news.

Amount raised
The Managing Director of GN Bank, Mr Issah Adam, said at the grand draw that the bank was grateful to customers for the support through their participation in the promotion.
As a bank that aims to meet the financing needs of the people, Mr Adam explained that the bank launched the PGP “ostensibly to reward customers” for their loyalty to the bank over the years.
He thus used the opportunity to call on customers to continue to do business with the bank as it strived to meet and exceed their expectations.
On how much the bank raised from the promotion, the MD said “it was quite substantial and encouraging”.
He explained that the promotion was helpful in the bank’s drive towards mobilising low-cost funds.
These funds, he said, were needed to help strengthen the bank’s loan book and enable it to increase lending to businesses.
Details of promotion
The GN Bank PGP was launched in November, last year as the first promotion by the bank after it converted from a savings and loans company into a universal bank in 2014.
During the promotion period, customers were expected to deposit a minimum of GH¢200 into their accounts to qualify for a coupon to be used for a draw.
Prior to the final draw today (June 7), eight separate draws were held in the various zones, where some customers were rewarded.
At those draws, winners were rewarded with fridges, generator sets and motorbikes, which the bank described as “consumer goods” necessary for the type of customers it targeted.
