Textile workers asked to work in unison to overcome challenges in industry
The Managing Director of Tex Styles Ghana Limited (TSG), Mr Kofi Boateng, has challenged workers of the textile industry to work in unison to avert the massive imitation of their products, as well as discourage the smuggling of counterfeited textiles into the country.
He said, “Our staff have to work in solidarity with others to surmount the challenges facing the industry to propel the company’s brands to the next stage of development.”
According to Mr Boateng, with some level of commitment and dedication, the textiles sector would overcome the challenges that have beset it in recent times.
Mr Boateng said this at the long service award ceremony in Tema, where 49 employees of the company who had served between 10 and 40 years received awards for diligent service.
Each awardee received a prize package comprising cash, company products and a certificate of recognition. Five of the awardees who had served 40 years were given special recognition and commendation.
The Managing Director of the manufacturer and marketer of African Prints (GTP and the Woodin range of products), who himself was an awardee with 35 years to his credit, expressed gratitude to all the awardees for their diligence and loyalty which had contributed greatly to the reputation of the GTP and Woodin brands.
Speaking on behalf of the awardees, Mr Nelson Ahorlu expressed appreciation to the management of TSG for instituting such a scheme.
He advised his colleagues to make punctuality, self-discipline and hard work their core values in order to grow GTP and Woodin into global brands.
The awards ceremony is an annual programme to commemorate and award employees who have provided tireless and dedicated service to TSG in ensuring its growth and development over the years.
