Savings promo gives Access Bank 10,000 new clients
Access Bank Ghana Limited says it registered more than 10,000 new clients within the three-month period that its savings promotion, the Easy Access Promo, run.
The Group Head of Retail Banking at Access Bank, Mr Stephen Abban, disclosed this to the GRAPHIC BUSINESS after the bank had presented the ultimate prize of the promotion to the winner.
Mr Francis Buabeng, a customer with the Sefwi Wiaso branch of the bank, was the ultimate winner of the final draw held on December 6.
Mr Buabeng, who is also the Benkumhene of the Sefwi Bekwai Traditional Area in the Eastern Region, was awarded a brand new Hyundai i35 for being the ultimate winner in the promotion which started on August 15.
Speaking to the paper after the winner was presented with the keys to the car, the group head of Retail Banking at the bank admitted that although the promotion was to help motivate people to save, it also gave the bank the opportunity to mobilise more savings, while ripping new clients into its portfolio.
"We had over 10,000 new customers coming on board mainly because of the promotion, and I think that was very encouraging," he said.
He, however, declined to quote the amount of funds the bank was able to mobilise from the campaign, except to say "we were able to meet our target.
"The whole idea of the campaign was to get people to save because we all know that saving means preparing for unforeseen circumstances. It also formed part of our financial inclusion drive as a bank," Mr Abban said, noting that the closure of the promotion will not affect that drive.
"We will be introducing other products and services in the coming days to help in that regard," he added.
Mr Buabeng, the ultimate winner, thanked the bank for instituting the , and pledged to continue banking with it.
He adds to some 100 customers that were awarded with LED TVs, DVD players, generators, among others, in previous draws.
The promotion was done in collaboration with the National Lottery Authority on its Carritas Platform and Auto Plaza, official distributors of Hyundai vehicles and accessories in the country.
