Over 30 made-in-Ghana products to receive awards
Some outstanding made-in-Ghana products have been nominated to receive honours at the maiden edition of Ghana-Made Products Awards 2013 this weekend.
The Ghana-Made Products Awards 2013, an initiative of Entrepreneurs Foundation of Ghana (EFG), is being held under the auspices of the Ministry of Trade and Industry, Ministry of Finance and the Ghana Standards Authority.
On the theme: “Patronising Ghana-Made Products, the Gateway to Economic Development”, the award seeks to celebrate some of the pride of Ghanaian indigenous products from small and medium industries and expose them to Ghanaians throughout the country to promote, create awareness and build product loyalty to meet the challenges of domestic and international markets.
The Chief Executive Officer of Private Enterprise Federation, Nana Osei Bonsu, will chair the programme while the President of UT Holdings, Mr Prince Kofi Amoabeng, will be the guest speaker at the awards and dinner night at the Banquet Hall, State House in Accra.
It is being sponsored by Global Access Savings and Loans, UT Bank, Zoomlion Group, Ghana trade.gov.gh and media partnership from China Central Television (CCTV Africa), Agoo Magazine, Entrepreneur Magazine, Crystal TV, Daily Graphic and Business and Financial Times.
A statement issued in Accra by the Founder and President of Entrepreneurs Foundation of Ghana, Mr Sam Ato Gaisie, said 22 companies and over 30 made-in-Ghana products had been nominated for honours in the maiden edition of the awards this weekend.
The statement also announced that CCTV Africa would provide international media coverage for the event.
CCTV Africa is focused on African news and perspectives and intends to strengthen news coverage in Africa and promote communication and cooperation between China and African countries on trade, industry, politics, economy and culture.
The Minister in Charge of Public-Private Partnership, Mr Rashid Pelpuo, is the guest of honour.
