MTN Ghana to expand its operations
Telecommunication company, MTN Ghana has said it would invest US$ 103 million to expand, optimise and maintain its state-of-the-art network in 2015.
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of MTN Ghana, Mr Ebenezer Asante, said the expansion project would provide its customers with the widest coverage, best voice and data quality in the coming years.
The CEO, who was speaking at the MTN Yello Soiree in Accra, indicated that his outfit had already invested over US$2.4 billion in the network from 2006 to 2014.
“We have invested over US$ 2.4 billion in the network from 2006 to 2014, and this year, the company would invest US$103 million to expand, optimise and maintain its state-of-the-art network,” he said.

The occasion, which was dubbed “MTN Yello Soiree,” provided staff and customers of MTN Ghana an opportunity to interact, celebrate and share ideas and chart a path for the way forward.
Some customers at the ceremony were rewarded with phones and accessories such as I- phone 6 plus, Samsung S6, Huawei Mate 7, Bluetooth headset and power banks after a raffle draw.
Mr Asante, who took office barely a week ago, noted that the event was held to celebrate their customers for their support over the years.
“We are here today to interact at a personal level and show our personal appreciation for your patronage of MTN’s business over the years,” he added.
He noted that his outfit’s mission was to brighten the lives of its customers by providing them with innovative mobile communications offers that would impact their lives in positive ways.
The Customer Relations Executive of MTN Ghana, Mrs Jemima Kotei Walsh, said her outfit was aware that a distinct customer experience went beyond the buyer’s excitement on the network alone.
According to her, MTN Ghana received four awards from the recent Ghana Telecoms Awards and had also been recognised as the Best Taxpayer by the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA).
She said MTN Ghana would continue to introduce a variety of customer loyalty packages to its customers across the country.
