GLICO Group now member of Institute of Public Relations
The GLICO Group of Companies (GLICO), an indigenous wholly owned Ghanaian company, was last Thursday, February 20, 2014, presented with a certificate as a member of the Institute of Public Relations (IPR) Ghana.
At a short ceremony at GLICO House, the Vice-President of the IPR, Mr Perry Ofosu, stated that the IPR recognised organisations that adhered to the public relations professional code of ethics and it was for that reason that the GLICO Group had been accepted as a corporate member.
He noted that public relations practice was an integral part of today’s business operations, adding that as companies competed for customers, it became imperative for organisations to communicate and relate professionally to their publics.
Among the IPR’s codes of conduct was the admonition to members to deal honestly and fairly with clients, employers, business partners and the public, he remarked.
The Managing Director of GLICO Life, Mr Edward Forkuo Kyei, who received the certificate on behalf of the group, thanked the IPR for the recognition and acceptance into membership.
Mr Kyei affirmed GLICO’s commitment to uphold professional standards in its business practices, saying that “professionalism” was one of the core values of GLICO.
“This new membership status brings a boost to business,” the MD of GLICO Life said.
In addition to now being a member of the IPR, GLICO is a member of the Ghana Club 100, the West African Insurance Companies Association, the Ghana Insurance Association and the United Global Compact.
