
Festival of Ideas takes place on Thursday
Business leaders and executives in corporate Ghana will be deliberating on the importance of integrity to business survival and growth at this year’s ‘Festival of Ideas’, which comes off on Thursday, August 13 at the Labadi Beach Hotel in Accra.
The event will bring together chief executives, corporate executives, business leaders and professionals to fraternise and share ideas on the core value of integrity in business operation, how it can be achieved and why it is paramount to the survival and growth of businesses in the country.
The Festival of Ideas is an annual event by Legacy & Legacy aimed at bringing business executives under one roof for insightful presentations, corporate training, brainstorming and networking.
Sub themes
This year’s event is under the theme: ‘Business with Integrity’, which is anchored by five main pillars. The pillars, which will be treated as sub themes for discussion at the event, are Compliance & Systemic Integrity, Corporate Governance, Quality Assurance, Leadership by Example and Corporate Values & Ethics. The General Overseer of International Central Gospel Church, Dr. Mensa Otabil will give the keynote address.

The discussion on ‘Compliance & Systemic Integrity’ is to be handled by the managing director of IFS Financial Services Limited, Mr Kojo Ohene-Kyei, and will focus on how businesses can continuously enhance the quality and efficiency of their systems and processes to achieve integrity.
Mr Keli Gadzekpo, the CEO of the Enterprise Group, will also handle ‘Corporate Governance’, which will explore how the right structures can be put in place and used to protect businesses from fraud and ensure longevity of their enterprises and brands.
The Managing Director of Airtel Ghana, Ms Lucy Quist, will handle the discussion on ‘Standards and Quality Assurance’. The discussion will examine how progressive organisations can clearly define their standards and quality control measures, set up systems and procedures to ensure that these are adhered to across the various departments and branches and most importantly, maintain such standards even in economically challenging times.
Also, Ms Joyce Aryee of the Salt and Light Ministry will take participants through ‘Leadership by Example’, where she will share practical examples of how exemplary leaders can get their team members to outdo themselves as they seek to imitate best practices.
On ‘Corporate Values and Ethics’, the managing director of Standard Chartered Bank, Mr Kweku Bedu-Addo, will expose participants to the effective communication of values and practical ways to get the entire organisation to internalise the ethical framework of the business.
At the Executive Development Session (EDS) on Thursday morning, the speakers will thoroughly discuss topics such as ‘My Corporate Journe,’ ‘Executive Dressing & Personality Management,’ and ‘Personal Branding’. — GB
