Banks honoured at 14th Ghana Banking Awards
Nineteen commercial banks were honoured for their distinguished services in the 2014 financial year at the 14th Ghana Banking Awards held in Accra on August 29.
At the event, held at the plush Labadi Beach Hotel, Ecobank Ghana Limited was adjudged the overall best after it beat 27 other banks to win the coveted Bank of the Year award.
It brings to seven the number of times Ecobank has won the coveted award since its introduction 14 years ago by Corporate Initiative Ghana (CIG).
This year’s event was on the theme: 'Identifying and rewarding excellence in the banking services proposition.'
It was held in partnership with the Graphic Business, a weekly business and financial newspaper, published by the Graphic Communication Group Limited (GCGL).

The Best Bank for the Promotion of Cashless Banking was introduced this year as part of efforts by the GhIPSS to promote a cashless economy, where most transactions will be done through electronic payment systems.
