Kumasi’s Archbishop Thomas K. Mensah dies at 81

The Catholic Archbishop Emeritus of Kumasi, Most Rev Thomas K Mensah is reported dead at age 81.
He reportedly died at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) in Kumasi on Sunday evening.
Archbishop Mensah was born on Feb 2, 1935 at Asamang in the Ashanti Region.
He was ordained as a priest on Jun 13, 1973 in Kumasi and appointed as first Bishop of Obuasi on March 3, 1995.
He later became the Archbishop of Kumasi in 2008, taking over from Most Rev Peter Akwasi Sarpong and retired in May 2012.
